BMW Design Internship
I was fortunate enough to develop designs and concepts for BMW through a 120-hour internship, unfortunately, I am unable to disclose the projects I worked on as a result of an NDA. However, I was in regular contact with developers and project owners with German and Brisbane-based BMW teams, presenting, and developing concepts to a professional level.

Roles and Responsibilities
Experimenting with new software
One of my main goals for BMW was to experiment with new technology and learn from the talented designers around me. I made the most of my time there by asking questions, making myself available to discuss new technologies, and integrating my skill set with the technologies utilised by the BMW Group (software such as Blender, Adobe After Effects, and Figma).
Communication
Being able to clearly communicate within a professional team was an invaluable skill I learned within BMW. I was a part of weekly Zoom meetings with German colleagues where we discussed the project brief, direction, and progress to ensure transparency across the entirety of the project. Additionally, I was able to present our initial concepts and final concepts with my design intern partner to both Brisbane and German-based colleagues.
Research
In order to effectively understand and better cater the project to the target demographic, an extensive amount of research was conducted across various areas of the concept. This enabled me as a designer to focus on creating a user-centered experience that meets a user’s needs in a practical way, whilst incorporating creative solutions.
Reflection
To conclude my time at my internship, I was required to submit a reflective video discussing what advice I would give to future interns and the strategies I would utilize within a professional environment. This not only allowed me to document my time at BMW, but it enabled me to highlight my key experiences and lessons over the course of the 120 hours.
